On my way home from work this evening I knocked on my neighbours door because I noticed that he left his lights on in his car. Strangely enough my longtime friend Samsteroni was there visiting his grandmama and helping her install her new television. I hadn't seen that dude in years. A large tree had fallen on her house during a windstorm a few days ago, but appeared to have spared any damage... But appearances are deceiving because the roof got stabbed hard by a big branch.
Ouch.
Another beautiful day at ye old brew store, and another day spent thinking about music. I would've liked to have spent all day guitars and not crazies, but that's okay, because I've got tomorrow for that. Lets hope I'll be inspired, and maybe even wake up early. I've got a very strong temptation to acquire a MicroKorg... Clip number one is an excellent demonstration of why. It functions as both a synth for live jams, and a midi controller for recording into a computer. It also has a vocoder to boot. Who doesn't want a vocoder? I was using one to jam with a couple of weeks back, and it adds a whole new layer to the spectrum of musical possibilities. Longo and McQuadsters does have that one month, no questions asked full refund return policy...I sold off the Ibanez bass that I received as a trade for one of my disused effects pedals, and not only did I get some scrilla, but also a lengthy set of stories about his dead dog that's been welcomingly haunting them. The purchasers girlfriend made herself comfortable on my couch and the two spent more time telling us strange stories than the guy spent examining the goods. I'm an honest guy, and I guess they could smell that. My dog sniffed the hell out of his bass bag, which must have reeked of pooch. Definitely one of my stranger craigslist encounters, and although it made me have to wait an extra 10 minutes for my supper, it was pretty comical. I think I enjoyed my craigslist visit to the elderly widow a few weeks back a bit more. I've yet to rock the classy sport coat in public, but when I do, ladies watch out. It's pretty funny how complete strangers conducting informal business within their homes treat each other. I swear if I'd offered this couple tea, they would have stayed the night.
